Change.org Petition: Petition for Walgreens Closing on Thanksgiving and Christmas

This Thanksgiving, Target is encouraging customers to spend time where they belong — with their friends and families. For the last few years, Target has decided to close on Thanksgiving. This year, they’ve made their decision permanent. Unfortunately, the same is not true for companies, including Walgreens. Cassandra started her petition because as an employee of Walgreens, she was told that she must work on Thanksgiving. She wants to spend that holiday with her family and she’s hoping you will support her. Sign her petition now to tell Walgreens to close for the holidays. As an employee who works for Walgreens, I don’t think it is fair that on the holidays we do not get to spend time with our families. On top of the already strenuous hours most of us work, we deserve that quality time with our loved ones. On the holidays, our Pharmacy Staff, Store Managers and corporate office are closed, but the retail side of Walgreens is open. With this petition, I am hoping to reach Walgreens Corporate so they can hear the voices of their employees.  Most major corporations are already closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think it is time that Walgreens follows suit.
