GreenFaith - In a Time of Crisis, Our Faith Roots Us—This Week’s Updates Inside

GreenFaith Logo

Throughout this week and the month of November, we’re leaning into Seeds of Faith and Resistance—the small but powerful acts that nourish our collective struggle against corporate greed and the policies that harm our people and our planet. As we work toward a movement of repeal, repair, and abundant possibility, we’re grounding ourselves in the moral clarity that faith communities bring to moments of crisis and transformation.

In that spirit, in this newsletter we invite you to help us take the Moral Pulse Survey, celebrate the inspiring growth of our San Jose GreenFaith Circle, and mark your calendars for our December 8th Interfaith Unity and Call to Action for our upcoming 2026 campaign, where we’ll gather in hope and determination to chart the path ahead.

Moving in Sacred Power: San Jose’s Circle Pilgrimages Toward a Just Future

The First Unitarian Church of San Jose is one of GreenFaith’s newest Circles, and is a vibrant spiritual hub for climate justice in the Bay Area. With a long history of linking worship to social action, this community is weaving eco-spiritual practice, collective care, and bold organizing into its core identity.

This past September, the Circle led a powerful Climate Pilgrimage for Sun Day, bringing congregants, neighbors, and local partners together in prayerful action for a livable future. Their Environmental Justice Ministry—now strengthened through their connection with GreenFaith—continues to grow a culture of shared leadership, reflection, and sustained involvement. Members describe the Circle not as a new program, but as an expression of their community: spiritually rooted, justice-driven, and united in purpose.

The voices within the Circle reflect this shared spirit. Circle members say that joining GreenFaith has deepened and enriched their work: “Our UU church has a long history of worship being central to our justice efforts, and GreenFaith has inspired us with opening prayers, stories, and a wide network of diverse religious communities,” shared one participant. Another reflected on the moral power of faith-led climate action: “Faith groups can play a critical role in restoring society’s relationship with creation and all our fellow species.” Others lift up the energy of this moment, noting that partnership with GreenFaith “helps put our faith into action and advances bold climate justice efforts at every level.”

Together, these voices show a community stepping fully into its moral calling.

If your congregation or community is ready to nurture spiritual resilience and lead meaningful climate action, consider forming a GreenFaith Circle. Each new Circle strengthens our global movement for justice, courage, and collective renewal.

If you’re interested in starting a circle, please email info@greenfaith.org to receive an interest form and more information on the circle formation process from our organizing team.
