WCC NEWS: WCC invites World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel, highlights “Faith, Hope and Love in Action”

As the 2022 World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel approaches in September, the World Council of Churches (WCC) invites people and churches all over the world to pray, advocate, and stand in solidarity with people in the Holy Land.

This year, the theme is anchored in active hope and in striving for a better future with no occupation. It builds on the theme of the WCC 11th Assembly, “Christ's love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.”

The theme for the World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel, to be observed 15-22 September, is “Faith, Hope and Love in Action: Towards Justice in Israel Palestine.”

“The annual world week for peace in Palestine and Israel offers an opportunity for all of us to engage in active hope towards ending the occupation,” said WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca.

Prayers, a video, and feature stories will be available for download by WCC member churches and all people of good will in the coming weeks.
