The shooting, which killed one person and injured five, happened after Sunday service at a luncheon hosted by a Taiwanese congregation.

“Together we grieve the loss of life and pray for the healing of those injured,” said Sauca. “In this time, we are reminded of our call to love our neighbor and recognize the sanctity of life.”

Sauca added that the WCC global fellowship will pray for the people of Laguna Woods, the members of Geneva Presbyterian Church and for the Presbyterian Church (USA) community of believers in this time. “May you be strengthened by our fellowship and may violence everywhere cease,” he said.
