World Vision - She stopped her own child marriage

Empower more girls
“I have stopped three child marriages to date.
I was nearly a victim myself, but I survived.”
Team Up With Neha
In Neha’s community in Nepal, child marriage was the norm. At just 14, she was nearly ripped out of school and forced to marry an older man. With World Vision’s support, Neha stopped her own marriage.

Thanks to the backing of child sponsors, she’s now leading other girls to speak up for themselves. “I escaped child marriage, and now I’m leading programs in my community to end child marriage,” says Neha, now 18. “If there were 1,000 girls like me, then violence against women would easily end.”

This is what can happen when just one girl is sponsored. Imagine what can happen when 1,000 girls are sponsored! Your support can change a girl’s life.

Learn how you can join the movement to sponsor 1,000 girls by October 11, International Day of the Girl.
