Staff Update

Good things are coming to More Light Presbyterians and we can’t contain our excitement. The MLP staff and board have been working for months restructuring, reimagining, and planning a future where we all do this work together. This means hundreds of hours of background work that you may not see, but we are ever amazed by the dedication and passion of this group of people.

But changes always come with some construction messes. We are working on new educational and liturgical resources, new merchandise, and new systems (that include a new shop and a brand-new website). As we work on these projects, we ask for patience and grace. It will totally be worth it!

We also ask for your help as we navigate some tricky situations. Recently, MLP was made aware of an organization that was using our information and likeness on a scam website, trying to solicit donations. We are working with others whose likeness has been used fraudulently on the website to have the site removed. What we ask of you all is that if you see More Light listed as an affiliate or partner with an organization that is not explicitly mentioned on our website, please alert us as soon as possible!

We are excited to continue to partner with you all and for the exciting times that lay ahead!

September 13-15 - Youthquake at Ferncliff. Rev. Claudia Aguilar, our Director of Engagement, will be keynoting this conference.
September 20-22 - MLP in Louisville. This will be a full weekend with multiple opportunities to connect with MLP and learn more about our work.
- September 20, 6 pm - Join MLP staff and board members for dinner and a panel conversation on what it means to be a More Light congregation today and why it matters, hosted by Highland Presbyterian Church (1011 Cherokee Rd).
- September 21, 3 pm - Ever wondered how to make Presbyterian worship more inclusive, accessible, or creative? Join "A Queer Eye for Worship," a liturgy creation workshop hosted by Springdale Presbyterian (7812 Brownsboro Rd.)
- September 21, 4 pm -One and all are invited to worship in a special More Light service at Springdale Presbyterian (after the workshop).
- September 22, 11 am. Join in worship celebrating Central's 41st anniversary as a More Light church, including Claudia as preacher. A reception will follow the service (1001 S. 4th St)
