GreenFaith - COP28 requires a response. Let’s go!

Last week, world leaders at COP28 called for a voluntary, non-binding “transition” away from fossil fuels. No commitments. No timetables. Not one enforceable step forward.

This is immoral and wrong. The climate emergency calls for a response that expresses the deep, powerful heart of our faith and spiritualities. Not a weak resolution with loopholes so big you could float Noah’s Ark through it!

So, in collaboration with Australian Religious Response to Climate Change and other religious organizations, GreenFaith is mobilizing people of faith around for ten days of public, grassroots, multi-faith climate action from 3-12 May 2024.

Together, we are calling for a rapid fossil fuel phaseout, a just transition to a clean energy future, and for polluters to pay for the damage they have caused.

Learn how to get involved by joining the Faiths for Climate Justice Launch call on January 30th. We’re offering two different call times for our global GreenFaith community:

Call #1 - Asia / Australia:
January 30th, 9am Jakarta, 11am Tokyo, 1pm Sydney

REGISTER FOR CALL #1

Call #2 - Europe / Africa / Americas:
January 30th, 9am New York, 3pm Paris, 5pm Nairobi

REGISTER FOR CALL #2

History shows that when people of diverse faiths take sustained public action, the world changes. At this launch call, you’ll learn about the vision for the May 2024 mobilization, the training, materials and other resources we’ll share, and how you can get involved.

United, we will rise peacefully, publicly, and powerfully. We will let governments and financial institutions know that they must phase out fossil fuels rapidly and fairly and commit to a livable future. Please join us.

In impassioned determination,

Rev. Fletcher Harper and the GreenFaith Team
