American Baptist News Service: American Baptist Churches USA Launches 2026 Cohorts for The Generosity Project

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (ABNS 9/4/25)—American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) is pleased to announce that a new cycle of regional cohorts for The Generosity Project will launch in January 2026. This initiative continues ABCUSA’s commitment to helping congregations cultivate a culture of generosity through biblical reflection, collaborative learning, and intentional experimentation.

The Generosity Project reframes the conversation around stewardship, making it about joy, gratitude, and faith rather than obligation or stress. Through this program, pastors and congregations are invited to explore generosity not merely as a financial matter, but as a spiritual practice rooted in discipleship and mission.

The 2026 program will include six monthly online gatherings designed to equip and encourage pastors, stewardship teams, and church leaders. Participation is free of charge, with all resources, tools, and coaching opportunities provided at no cost. Participants will receive practical guidance for stewardship development, support for engaging their congregations in generosity as a joyful, missional calling, and access to quarterly webinars with national leaders in stewardship.

Rev. Dr. Gina Jacobs-Strain, general secretary of ABCUSA shared, “Building on the past success of the Generosity Project, we are excited to launch new cohorts with fresh resources as well as with the experienced leadership Rev. Dr. Robin Stoops brings to this effort. We look forward to sharing stewardship tools and best practices, while reshaping the narrative about stewardship as we focus on gratitude and God’s abundance.”

American Baptist Churches USA invites those who are interested in learning more about the Generosity Project to an info session that will introduce the 2026 cohort and highlight the resources available through the program. Participants will learn how they can strengthen generosity, sustainability, and spiritual vitality in their church while connecting with a network of like-minded participants.

The sessions will be held:

  • Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM CT / 1:00 PM MT
  • Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM CT / 6:00 PM MT
