Presbyterian for Earth Care

Monthly Promos and Creation Care Tips

PEC is trying a new thing, offering monthly announcements and creation care tips. We will send these out around the 15th of the previous month, providing a preview of July and a glimpse into August. As a recipient of our routine communications from  Presbyterians for Earth Care, we are excited about this opportunity to deliver announcements about our educational and inspirational projects and ways you can care for God’s creation. Please share with your friends, in your church newsletter or bulletin, and within your community.  (A downloadable PDF document is included at the end of this message.)

July 2025—Plastic Free July

Join millions of people around the world in reducing their plastic waste. Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps you to be a part of the plastic pollution solution. We can have cleaner streets, oceans, and communities. Take time this July to refuse single-use plastics.

How can I reduce my plastic usage?

1.       BYO (bring your own) water bottle, straw, coffee mug, reusable utensils, produce and shopping bags, and containers for restaurant leftovers.

2.       Use bar soapsshampoosconditioners, and toothpaste tablets.

3.       Use plastic-free dishwasher detergentlaundry detergent, and household cleaners.

4.       Use reusable bags or jars instead of plastic bags, and beeswax wraps instead of plastic wrap.

Wild Indigo: Stewarding for Ecology on Church Land

Webinar Date: Thursday, June 12, 2025

Presenter: John Creasy, Founder and Director of Wild Indigo Guild

What if congregations understood their stewardship of land to be a primary missional calling in our world today? Most congregations own some amount of land, some own large swaths of lawn. Imagine if every church saw their land as opportunities to bless their neighborhood, grow food and create opportunities for ecological restoration. John will share some exiting examples of churches doing this kind of work with their neighbors. We’ll consider the possibilities for gardening, farming, reforestation and more, on church land. CLICK HERE for Webinar Recording & Resources.
