Presbyterian Peace Fellowship - What’s Next for Peacemaking? Upcoming Gatherings & Ways to Take Action

What’s Next for Peacemaking? Join Us & Take Action

Dear friends,

There’s so much happening in the world, and our work for peace and justice has never been more urgent. With shifts in denominational priorities, ongoing threats of violence, and the need for bold action, now is the time to come together, reflect, and take meaningful steps forward.

In the coming weeks and months, we have several opportunities for connection, action, and deep reflection—from a town hall on the future of peacemaking to anti-gun violence efforts, spiritual gatherings, and national advocacy at General Assembly. Wherever you are, there’s a place for you in this work.

Read on to find ways to show up, learn, and take action.

Upcoming Events

Lost & Found: This Sunday led by Bruce Reyes-Chow

When:

Sunday, February 16, 2025

7 PM ET | 6 PM CT | 5 PM MT | 4 PM PT

Where:

Online (Zoom link provided upon registration)

This Sunday, join us for Lost & Found, our virtual peace church gathering, as we explore Love as Resistance—a practice of renewal and transformation in the face of injustice.

Together, we will reflect on the many ways love can be an act of resistance and rejuvenation:

  • Love of creation
  • Love of community
  • Love of self
  • Love of others
  • Love of enemy

Without love, evil wins.

Bruce Reyes-Chow will guide us in reimagining 1 Corinthians 13 through the lens of Love as Resistance, inviting us into deeper reflection, connection, and action.

Come as you are. Let’s explore, resist, and renew together.

Pentecost on Purpose: Reparations, Healing, and the Beloved Community

When: June 6 - 8, 2025

Where: Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia

Hosts: Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, Subculture Inc., SURJ-Faith, Eastern Mennonite University, and Center on Repair of Historic Harms (PC(USA)

Join us for a transformational experience of building and being the beloved community as people of faith committed to meaningful, material, and theological reparations. We'll gather collectively as flawed and hopeful folks to listen deeply, hear each others' wisdom, and strategize next steps in practical application of theological imagination.

Over shared meals and rich conversation, we'll engage with landback movements, reparations and endowments, and excavating whiteness while investing in the future of the Beloved Community. Community leaders, clergy, congregational troublemakers, curious folks - you are welcome! If you've been wondering how to move education into action, if you've been a part of reparations work done well, or if you're just curious about this community, we hope to see you there. Registration links and details coming soon!

New Podcast Episode!

A new episode of Peace-ing It Together just dropped! This week’s conversation features PPF’s own Accompaniment Strategist, Mudit SuriHe expands on the role of trauma awareness within global solidarity work, and the surprisingly intuitive ways in which the basic tenets of accompaniment show up among friends and communities as well as cross-cultural projects. What do global strategists crossing international borders, neighborhood kids walking each other home from school, and party girls traveling together to the club bathroom all have in common? They're all practicing accompaniment, that's what.
