Arctic Adventures: Encounters with
Creation and Culture
The Rev. Courtenay Willcox is the transitional pastor of Northampton Presbyterian Church in Holland, Pennsylvania, the moderator of Presbyterians for Earth Care (PEC), and “Gigi” to three granddaughters. The Rev. Andrew Black is the associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the founder of EarthKeepers 360, Public Lands Field Director at the National Wildlife Federation, and serves on the PEC’s Steering Committee. Andrew is father to an adorable and precocious 6-year-old daughter.
Andrew and Courtenay care about these little humans, and they, in part, compelled us to spend 5 days camping on the Alaskan tundra in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve, talking with Gwich’in leaders, and learning a few things along the way about the biblical, moral, and spiritual foundations for why we need to care about this landscape. Come hear from us about our experiences that have shaped our worldview on land stewardship.
