Triantafilou met with WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, and with WCC staff. I am deeply grateful and thankful for the visit of Constantine Triantafilou to the WCC office,” said Pillay. “The collaboration and partnership we share with International Orthodox Christian Charities is greatly valued and appreciated. Constantine’s visit has done so much more to deepen and strengthen the work and witness in which we engage together. " Triantafilou received an introduction to the WCC’s work, including an overview of the Green Village and how the development project supports the WCC’s agenda for sustainability. Triantafilou also discussed the work of the WCC Commission on Faith and Order, with a special perspective on how, working together, the World Council of Churches and International Orthodox Christian Charities can make a difference in a hurting world. “At a time when our world is facing so much uncertainty, it was inspiring to meet Dr Pillay and the staff of the WCC and learn more about their faithful and important work,” said Triantafilou. International Orthodox Christian Charities, the international humanitarian aid and development agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, aims to develop in Orthodox Christians a commitment to philanthropy and global cooperative involvement in the diaconal work of the Orthodox Church.
