Presbyterian Peace Fellowship - Preaching peace in the shadow of colonialism and militarism

Preaching peace on important holidays We often hear from pastors and church leaders how hard it can be to preach peace in the midst of challenging holidays that bring up the worst of our history and the current conditions of oppression, colonialism, and militarism in our culture and nation. We will gather twice this spring to digest the lectionary texts together, reflect on our commitment to nonviolence, and craft prayers and liturgy together as resources to share for the weekends of Juneteenth and July 4th. We hope you can join us for the following two scripture discussion groups. Register for the May 19th conversation about how to preach peace on Juneteenth (Sunday, June 19th)   Register for the June 2nd conversation about how to peach peace on the weekend of July 4th (Sunday, July 3rd).    Presbys following the General Assembly online - join the group! General Assembly may be hybrid this year, but that doesn't mean we can't connect with each other and make some noise together! Invite the Presbys in your life to join too!  Reminder: help us connect with commissioners & delegates going to GA We are still looking for help connecting with those who are attending GA this summer. The Office of the General Assembly is not longer releasing a contact list of commissioners and delegates, which makes building relationships much more difficult. We are also concerned about how this impacts the transparency of the process of making church policy when the assembly will be hybrid and no observers are allowed to be present. If you are Presbyterian -- can you take 10 minutes and fill out the information you have from your Presbytery about who is coming to GA? If you don't know your commissioners, the information should be listed in your Presbytery minutes. Thanks for your support!
